Leslie is a versatile cross-discipline writer who plays well with words(and others). She began her career as a science writer at UCSF, handling research abstracts, patient health information, and web copy. If you’ve ever googled some alarming symptoms at 3 a.m., there is a good chance the calming, de-escalating voice you found on the screen was hers. After nearly a decade in academic medicine, Leslie made the transition to marketing and brand writing. She has been the voice behind a luxury fitness brand, and later, she served as the B2B marketing writer for a large e-commerce company. Outside of copywriting, Leslie has had a prolific publishing career. She has published short fiction, creative nonfiction, and personal essays in literary magazines of varying obscurity. She’s written reported pieces for The Bold Italic and is a frequent contributor to the literary humor and satire publication McSweeney’s.
