Surrounded by nature in the mountains of New Mexico, Michael grew up dreaming of a move to the big city so he could become an astronaut, architect, and magician—all at once. His insatiable curiosity drove him to learn how the outside world worked(and could evolve) by devouring every book he could get his hands on. Eventually this led to his study of Aerospace Engineering and Architecture in college, where he honed his understanding of multi-dimensional systems and designing simple solutions to complex problems. He then flexed his creative muscles as a Film Director and Advertising Photographer for Fortune 500 clients while exploring the nascent web as a hobby in the mid-1990s. When the Internet took off, Michael left the world of film behind to work as an information and systems architect for various startups during the dot-com boom, eventuallytaking shelter in the world of consulting during the ensuing bust. Now, with over 20 years of experience under his belt across a wide range of industries and professions, Michael brings a rare balance of both creative vision and technical insight to any complex business challenge—all while never losing sight of the genuine needs of the user.
