There are all times when we have to dress the part
Gymboree
Despite being global fashion retailer Gymboree’s most premium clothing line, the Janie & Jack brand had long lagged behind its other brands in terms of the e-commerce experience. When the time came to develop a modern, responsive, mobile-friendly e-commerce experience, Gymboree asked Cibo to help bring the brand’s carefully considered clothing to life.
What We Did
The Janie & Jack brand has long been one of America’s premium clothing brands for children of all ages. Made with great care and attention to detail, the line offers everything from classically timeless looks to formal holiday outfits, beautifully merchandised in retail stores dotting some of America’s priciest zip codes.
The Cibo team undertook a redesign of the e-commerce experience that would bring the online store in line with the retail experience and the craftsmanship of the clothing line itself. Exploiting modern best practices for responsive e-commerce experiences, We began the UX design process of redesigning the site with an emphasis on the ease of shopping and quality of visual merchandising.
The visual design team developed a look and feel for the site filled with small bespoke elements appropriate to the brand’s existing visual language in stores and on the rack. The brand’s focus on multi-piece outfits required excellent information design and usability in the presentation of size and fabric options, all while maintaining a streamlined mobile experience.
Cibo collaborated with the brand’s internal design team to ensure fidelity to the company’s established visual language, and the resulting site won accolades from both shoppers as well as merchants. More importantly, the mobile-compatible site significantly increased conversion and customer satisfaction.
